Waterloo & City line to reopen after 14 months

London Underground is gearing up for the return of hundreds of Metropolis employees by reopening of “The Drain” concerning Waterloo and Bank stations.

The Waterloo & Metropolis line, which has been shut for 14 months, will reopen on June 21, Transport for London stated.

It issued the statement ahead of Key Minister Boris Johnson warned of “disruption” to the reopening of the overall economy in light-weight of new strains of Covid-19.

The line was opened in 1898 and grew to become identified for long queues at the country’s busiest overland prepare station.

It carries 15m passengers each year and is the 2nd busiest right after the Victoria line.
