Atos, a global leader in electronic transformation, currently announces that its two supercomputers at IT4Innovations, the nationwide supercomputing middle at the VSB-Technological College of Ostrava, have been designed out there to scientists and businesses conducting exploration similar to COVID-19. These scientists have the prospect for privileged access to computing time on Atos supercomputers Anselm, which was released in 2013 and Barbora, put in in October 2019.

“We encourage scientists to implement if they are currently engaged in exploration on COVID-19. We have primarily presented our computing capability to some of our significant people, such as the Institute of Natural and organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAC and CEITEC. But other folks can implement much too. In addition, tasks supported do not always will need to be concentrated on just drug advancement but may perhaps also be the advancement of nanomaterials to help the battle against coronavirus or to design the unfold of the epidemic” claims Vít Vondrák, IT4Innovations’ Running Director.

“In the Czech Republic, we have excellent scientists who can greatly aid with the management of this pandemic and its effects using higher-overall performance computer systems for practical calculations. With a joint overall performance of about one PFlop per 2nd, our supercomputers can count thousands of situations quicker than typical computer systems, enabling scientists to now preserve so a lot useful time” claimed Vladek Šlezingr, CEO at Atos in the Czech Republic, who created and shipped the Atos supercomputers Anselm and Barbora.
