Although Erode turmeric markets observed lowered arrivals, increased income had been recorded on Thursday.
“On the 2nd working day of the opening of the current market, the arrivals lowered significantly on Thursday. Only 225 bags arrived as versus on Thursday 722 on Wednesday. There is very good need of getting by the traders. But the farmers have brought lowered amount. Only few bags of previous turmeric arriving for sale and the farmers selected very good good quality amid the new turmeric and quoted the price,” claimed RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Affiliation.
At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Affiliation income yard, finger turmeric was offered at ₹6,389-six,819 a quintal and root variety at ₹5,three hundred-six,119. Of the arrival of 161 bags, ninety had been offered. At the Controlled Advertising Committee, finger turmeric was offered at ₹5,939-six,606 and root variety at ₹4,806-six,239. All the 64 bags held for sale had been offered.
