Ryanair abandons flights from Northern Ireland

The motion arrives just three months immediately after the airline recommenced flights from Belfast City immediately after an absence of 11 decades. 

Ryanair operates routes to Malaga, Alicante, Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk and Milan from Belfast Worldwide. 

A spokesman for the airport reported: “It is disappointing that Ryanair has now determined to withdraw operations from the total Northern Ireland current market at the conclusion of Oct, acquiring variously experienced a presence in all three nearby airports in current decades.

“It has been a tricky period for aviation and a time when shoppers need to have some security and religion in the Northern Ireland air transport community.”

Earlier on Tuesday, main government Michael O’Leary reported the airline was set to hit its target of carrying between 90m and 100m passengers for the year to March 2021. It flew 149m passengers in the year to March 2019.

Shares rose jumped 2.1pc to €16.41 in London, valuing the airline at €18.6bn.
