Farmers welcome Centre’s decision to repeal laws

The farmers’ organisations have welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement on Friday that the farm laws will be repealed. But in their first reaction, they reported the protests would proceed right until a legislation is handed to assure Minimum Assist Price for farm develop.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha leader Balkaran Singh Brar informed BusinessLine that the protests will go on. “We thank the Key Minister for his decision that the farm legal guidelines will be repealed. We congratulate the farmers for their sustained struggles. We will keep on these protests right up until Parliament passes a law to ensure MSP. We urge the Centre to convey this sort of a legislation in the approaching wintertime session of Parliament,” Brar explained.
